Air

Charlotte Douglas International Airport is less than 15 minutes away from the Sanctuary. Nearly 35 million passengers were served on regional, domestic and international flights in 2008. Currently there are more than 650 daily departures from more than 80 gates. Charlotte Douglas Airport operates under the symbol CLT.

Personal Vehicles

the Sanctuary is close to interstates I-85 and I-77. Access points for each are less than 10 minutes away. It's also within 5 minutes of I-485, which loops around the greater Charlotte area, providing quick access to the airport and points east, south and north.

Nearby too is Highway 49, which runs mainly north - south through the Charlotte inner-city. Northbound from the Sanctuary it provides access to uptown Charlotte, Lowe's Motor Speedway, and UNC Charlotte. Southbound, it runs directly through York and provides access to Rock Hill via Highway 274.

Public Transportation

The Charlotte metro area is served by the CATS public transportation system. CATS oversees operations of the public buses and the LYNX light rail line, the blue-line south terminal for which is just east in Pineville. CATS also provides special transportation for those who qualify under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
