the Sanctuary, a lakeside community on Lake Wylie in Charlotte,
N.C., proves that it’s possible for a community to be idyllic and ideally
situated just minutes from a business and cultural hub.
Only 20 percent of the land in the Sanctuary will ever be developed. Generously
sized, wooded lots, ranging from two to 13 acres, allow owners the
freedom to build multiple structures – from guest cottages to work
studios. Many of our residents and builders employ green-building practices to
create their custom homes. All told, fewer
than 200 families will be able to make their home at the 1,350-acre community.
The community’s lifestyle starts at the The
Camp & John James Audubon Lodge, a 17-acre waterfront amenity
area with swimming pools, tennis courts, fitness center, a boating
center and more. A full-time activities staff helps residents make
the most of the surroundings and organizes activities that encourage
neighbors to become friends.
